PPP Evaluation

After looking at my previous work during first year, I instantly realised how I had changed as a designer, I had developed a style and became aware of an instant judgement of designs that appeal to me. This creative judgement helped me progress with a creative judgement towards my own work. This progressed over the summer due to the use of design blogs, inspiration, and the general motivation to produce work that I enjoyed producing and was proud to call it my work. This grew feeling grew from first year as I wasn't confident with my work, and tended to shy away from presenting my own work and voicing my opinion. 

Upon producing my self branding I became aware that I now develop my designs to their full extent before producing the work, working on the concept, finalising all aspects of my design and then producing the outcome. I work bettered in an organised manner making sure I am happy with each aspect of my design before producing. The PPP module made me realise my new design process when compiling all my work and forming a conclusion. It made me realise my weaknesses and what aspects of my process I need to improve on.

One aspect I would like to improve on would be communication. With shyness still following me from first year, there are still some aspects of the networking side to graphic design that I find difficult to access. I am currently on Linked in however my profile isn't completed to its best of ability. I would like to refine my work, refine my self branding and organise my work before getting myself out there. I have a behance account with one project on, but after compiling my work and producing professional imagery for the website, I will upload all my work and have a new medium to display my work. 

After completing my website mock up, I intend to plan, code, and apply it to my own domain so I have a basis to work from and have a site that clients can easily access and gain knowledge to the type of work I will produce. I will purchase the domain www.JoeSpud.Com which will allow a professional name that can be accessed and given to clients far easier and more professionally than a behace account. (work will still be placed on behance but main priority will be completing and coding my website for professional use when entering third year).

This module has made me conclude and compile myself as a designer. I understand the type of design I now like and how I have a strong design process that can be worked on and prepare myself for third year. Understanding that I need to gain on my networking skills I will progress my self branding over summer, completing self initiated briefs, compiling my work, collecting it all, then producing my website. Upon obtaining my website with my work, I believe I will be ready to start networking as I have a strong foundation built with my previous work and self promotion I have completed. This also gets me motivated for third year, with the building of relationships and the strong portfolio I will have produced will give me the confidence and ability to present and communicate better as a person.
